People often ask if I ride or show, so thought it was time for a biography of sorts (pictures to come): I grew up in Louisiana, riding and showing American Saddlebreds on the local level, starting with Cherry Rouse
and later with Tommy Benton. I then attended William Woods University, graduating in 1996 with a BS in Equestrian Science.
During summers and after graduation I worked for Rob & Sarah Byers at Premier Stables in Simpsonville, KY. In 1997,
I went to work for Saddlebred trainers, Andy and Lynda Freseth at their highly esteemed Hollow Haven Farm, then located in
Chanhassen, MN. I was with them for two years there as assistant trainer before moving with them to their new location
in Oconomowoc, WI and remained there for another two years. In 2001, I decided to return to KY and landed at Bret
and Susi Day's Grey Ridge Farm in Versailles, KY which I still call home along with my Saddlebred Rescue gelding, Champagne
Forever, "Boomerang". I had the privilege to work for Bret and Susi for six years before branching out to
do something different and opened Commotion! in March 2008. Commotion! began as gift shop of sorts, selling "Eclectic
Handmade Goods" and Consignment Riding Apparel was added shortly after when it was apparent there was a need in the Lexington,
KY area. It has been amazing how fast the consignment riding section grew and the store now specializes in consignment
riding apparel, with the occasional horse related handmade/art pieces still mixed in. Where did the name "Commotion" come from? While working for the Freseth's in
WI, I had the pleasure to work a game mare named "Commotion in Motion". She became a favorite of mine and
when I got a computer for the first time, I chose her name "Commotion" as my screen name. The rest is history.
